A two day course looking at the signs left behind by the inhabitants of our native environments & how we can use tracking and fieldcraft skills to get closer to them.
Tracking has been practiced by our hunter gatherer ancestors since the evolution of early man.
There is nothing more rewarding than taking a walk in the woods in the early morning and trying to decipher the delicate clues left for us by our night time visitors.
Once we begin to see these clues we can learn much about an animal’s behaviour and if we are lucky and persevere we can begin to develop an ancient and grounding link to our natural history.
We will be looking at some of the more easily read animal signs such as:
- Footprints
- Droppings
- Feeding signs
As well as discussing how we can change the way we:
- Move
- Look (camouflage)
- See
- Hear
