Learn the essential skills of Bushcraft with a week-end at
the Woodland Skills Centre.
During the course of the first day we will look at various methods of fire lighting including fire by friction, before setting up natural shelters in the beautiful mixed woodland at The Warren.
Later in the day we will delve into the world of trapping and snaring as well as discussing various improvised fishing techniques.
The aim of this introduction to Bushcraft is to look at the rudimentary skills of a woodsman, skills which can keep us warm, dry and provide food.
During the second day we will be looking at methods of making camp life more comfortable by setting up various cooking systems and baking some wild breads.
Once our bellies are full we will look at some craft skills such as carving kitchen utensils and making natural cordage.
The aim of this course is to look beyond our fundamental skills and see how a little more knowledge can make life in the wild very comfortable.
